SCOTTISH
FEDERATION TO HOST AMERICAN COACH!
09/06/04
6:00 PM
GLASGOW,
SCOTLAND (Monday, September 06, 2004) – The home to
football as it is known throughout the world has invited
George Sasvari, Director of Player Development for FC
America Academy in Orlando and soccer entrepreneur in
the United States, to provide coaching leadership on
player development for the Scottish Federation of
Football Coaches (SFFC) in Glasgow, Scotland.
Scottish
youth players and coaches will attend programs called
Creative Player Development, offered by SFFC, that will
expose players to a unique methodology designed by
Sasvari to change the way players are developed
throughout the country.
Scotland’s current worldwide ranking of 59 has
them falling off the world cup soccer map and serves as
their primary motivation in revamping their youth
development.
The
program will take place from September 23rd
– 28th in Paisley, a suburb of Glasgow,
Scotland. The
relationship with SYFA started when Sasvari was invited
to Scotland in July of 2003 to present ideas on player
development through clinics for coaches and players.
During
past visits Sasvari has trained the Under 14 and 16 Boys
National Squads as well as the Under 19 Western Regional
Squad. SFFC and the Scottish Youth Football
Association (SYFC) has since been working with George
Sasvari to develop a plan for implementing the unique
coaching methods on both a regional and national level.
Creative
Player Development, designed by Sasvari, focuses
on putting players at the centerpiece of their
development. Coaches learn how to enhance a player’s
creativity, imagination, and inventiveness.
Players develop responsibility for their decisions by
learning to read the game and find creative solutions to
problems they face on the field.
John
Hardie, President of Paisley United FC and longtime Kit
Manager to the professional clubs in Scotland, has
watched Sasvari train teams from his club.
Hardie deemed the coaching sessions "Brilliant!
George gained the respect of all the Scottish
coaches."
Jim
Smith, coach for Paisley United and National Manager for
the Under 15’s, said "We
experienced the Sasvari Way in 2002 when we were over at
the Schwan's USA Cup and took part in a Finishing Topic
Course, that helped us through the season and we ended
up winning the Scottish Amateur Youth league."
George
Sasvari trained the U-16 National Team and conducted
a coaching course for the Scottish Youth Football
Association!

9:00 AM
PAISLEY,
SCOTLAND (Monday, July 19, 2004) – Coaches
from Paisley, Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Edinburgh came to
the town of Paisley to take part in the sessions held by
George Sasvari. The Scottish Youth Football
Association (SYFA) organized the course to allow coaches
an insight into the SasvariWay Coaching
Curriculum.
Both
the national and regional teams were brought in for
practical demonstrations of the curriculum. Said
SYFA Western Region secretary Jim Smith: "The
weekend was a great success with players and coaches all
taking away something new. The idea is to continue
to develop the program at club, regional and national
levels.
The
success of the training was so strong that coaches who
attended immediately hired Sasvari to train their club
teams prior to leaving back for the United States.
Teams from St. Peters and Paisley United each used
Sasvari to implement the training program with their
teams. For more details go to: http://syfa.org.uk

best possible training environment for learning soccer
and skills that develop innovation, creativity,
imagination, awareness, and decision-making.

9:00 PM
JACKSONVILLE,
FLORIDA (Sunday, May 9, 2004) – After years of soccer
clubs being formed
with the male
player in mind, the Florida Girls Soccer Academy (FGSA)
arrives in north Florida to
meet the unique needs of female athletes. George
Sasvari, President of Ultimate Touch International
in Orlando has joined with community coaches, parents
and business leaders to form
FGSA. FGSA will function with the unique goal of providing
an environment specifically for
females and focusing on player development.
T he
main goal of the FGSA training environment is to inspire
players to solve problems and create
opportunities through a methodology that promotes
innovation, imagination, creativity, awareness,
and decision-making. Each team’s goal is to develop
every player’s skill so that she
feels like a contributing member of the team and enjoys
playing soccer which was lacking in
many of the girls programs.
"We
take pride in attracting superior players through
innovative advanced modern coaching
and player
development programs that not only develop great players
but also great people and
prepares them for future life",
stated Sasvari.
The
Florida Girls Soccer Academy (FGSA) is committed to
creating an organization whose highest
priority is developing female soccer players to reach
their greatest potential through a program
that builds character, sportsmanship, and teamwork. FGSA
is committed to meeting the
specific needs of female players and creating an
environment that enhances the sports experience
from their perspective and reaches beyond the playing
field.
Michael
Ahmed, Director of Coaching – North Florida, states
that "I have no doubt that this training
program will make an impact not only on our players but
also on coaches in North Florida.
More importantly, young girls will have a special
environment to play where the program
is designed specifically with them in mind first."
From
a coaching perspective, the organization’s goal is to
attract and create a culture of motivated
coaches whose passion is to constantly evolve their
coaching style while working exclusively
with female players and providing them the best possible
environment. According to
Sasvari, "the program will include opportunities
for FGSA member coaches to learn from other
top coaches of female players from the national and
international level."
The
Coaching and Player Development Series, designed by
Sasvari, focus on putting players at the
centerpiece of their development. Coaches learn how to
enhance a player’s creativity, imagination,
and inventiveness. Players develop responsibility for
their decisions by learning to

Kumba
Team Wins Group and advances in Dallas Cup!
Kumba
defeated nationally ranked Oklahoma in the
quarterfinals.
04/12/04

2:00 PM
ORLANDO,
FLORIDA (Monday, April 12, 2004) –In
the toughest high profile tournament they have ever
played, the Under 15 Kumba won their group in the
prestigious Dallas Cup Spring Classic in Dallas,
TX.
After
opening the tournament with a 3-0 win over local Dallas
Classic League 1st Division club AC XLR8 Black 89, the
team faced a tough ESC Black 89 team ranked #10
nationally. The tough fought match in strong windy
conditions resulted in a draw 1-1 leaving a battle to
win the group in the final game.
The
Kumba were in the drivers seat with a 2 point lead atop
the group going into their 3rd match against perennial
power and nationally renown club Dallas Texans.
Needing a win to guarantee advancing to the next round,
the girls took a 2-0 halftime lead before giving up a
late goal to make the game interesting. After
holding off the Texans late game surge to win 2-1, the
Kumba were assured of 1st place in the group and
advanced to the quarterfinals.
In
a strange turn of fate, Kumba faced the wildcard team
and group opponent Oklahoma again. This time the
girls earned an early goal and dominated from beginning
to end to claim the victory over a frustrated ESC Black
89 squad from Oklahoma accustomed to winning in
tournaments.
The
semi-finals left the Kumba one game away from an
appearance in the finals when they faced the current
National Champions from US Club Soccer; Bill Wiskel
Soccer Academy from Santa Clara, CA. The Kumba run
came to a screeching halt against a speedy California
team with lots of experience and on top of its game,
losing 5-0 including 2 deflected goals.
The
trip to Dallas also included an official college visit
along side the Under 17 Kumba to Southern Methodist
University (SMU). The two girls teams representing
Florida and FC America toured the campus with admissions
and sat with women’s head coach John Cossaboon to
discuss college soccer and academics.
Congratulations
to the Kumba for great results in the high profile
Dallas Cup. Not winning a tournament championship
for the first time ends the team’s run of five
straight appearances and four victories in tournament
championship games; but also leaves the team highly
motivated to prove themselves at state cup and in future
high profile events.
